Marlborough – The LaFollette family and Dollars for Scholars – CSF of Marlborough are pleased to announce that on Saturday, May 21, a benefit will be held to raise funds for The Bernadette LaFollette Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The event, “Never Forget Bernadette LaFollette – A Night Out to Benefit the Bernadette LaFollette Memorial Scholarship Fund” – will feature a night of music, food, and fun. It will be held starting at 7 p.m. at Hellenic Hall at the St. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central St., Marlborough.
Bernadette was just 15 years old and a sophomore at Marlborough High School (MHS) when she died on Dec. 6, 2013 from her lifelong battle with a rare and complicated heart disease. Although she was sick all of her life and required oxygen day and night, she never stopped living life to the fullest. She pursued her passions of music, drama, academics and community service with an abundance of energy and charm.
Bernadette knew how to make the most of every minute of her life. She had plans to continue onto college when she graduated from MHS this spring. Now, her family and the event organizers hope to recognize and celebrate her joy of life by awarding a scholarship in her memory to one male and one female graduate of MHS who share her interests.
Tickets may be reserved at [email protected]. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to the scholarship by visiting tinyurl.com/neverforgetb or by sending a check to Never Forget B – CSF, 261 Desimone Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752.
