Obit Ngoc Thi LuongMarlborough – Mrs. Maria Ngoc Thi Luong, 85, of Marlborough, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, with her loving family by her side, after being stricken ill recently. She was the wife of the late Bang Trinh, to whom she was married for 63 years.

She is survived by her three sons, Trung Le Trinh and his wife of Houston, Texas,  Khanh Long Trinh and his wife of Marlborough, and Minh Duong Trinh and his wife of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; her five daughters, Nga Thanh Trinh of Malden;, Huong Thanh Trinh and her husband of Grafton, Chau Thanh Trinh and her husband of Southborough, Thuy Thanh Trinh and her husband of Philadelphia, Pa., and Tuyen Thanh Trinh of Stow; one brother, Phuc Van Luong and family of Vietnam; one sister-in-law, Hang Thi Trinh and family of Vietnam; adopted daughter, Phung Thuy Nguyen and family of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Son Dang Trinh and family of Worcester; thirteen grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, the daughter of late Rinh Van Luong and Mao Thi Nguyen. She immigrated to Worcester in 1975 with her family and sister-in-law.

She was a wonderful, loving mother devoted to her children and grandchildren, and was respected by all who knew her. Her Catholic faith played an active role in her life. Her greatest passion and joy was cooking, watching cooking videos on YouTube, vacationing in Maine, and reading stories on all the Saints.

Her funeral will be held Monday May 16, at 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, May 15, from 3-5 p.m., at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association
