Grafton – The town recently lost one of its biggest supporters with the passing of Edwin Finn.
Finn served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a pharmacist’s mate and then, after being honorably discharged, returned home to work as a pharmacist, eventually opening Finn’s Pharmacy in South Grafton. He was a member of St. James and St. Patrick’s parishes and the Knights of Columbus Mumford Council 365 as well as a big fan of Grafton and Northbridge sports teams.
He became an honorary member of the Grafton Fire Department Station 3 in 1979, received the “Humanitarian of the Year” award from the Grafton Lions Club in 1997 and the lifetime Community Service Award from the town of Grafton in 1998.
According to the recently published history book, “A Grafton Chronicle,” “Ed Finn served his community not just as a pharmacist but as a true friend to the people of Grafton.”
