Northborough – The Northborough Helping Hands Assoc. Inc. (NHHA) is gearing up for its 9th Backpack Drive, which will continue to benefit students in need in the Northborough public schools, grades K-12, for the 2016-2017 school year.
Last year, 156 backpacks were donated with the generous support of businesses, organizations and individuals.
Each year the need increases as well as the expenses. The projected fundraising goal is $4,200. Each new backpack is accompanied by grade appropriate school supplies. Sponsor an elementary school backpack for a $35 donation or a middle school/high school backpack for a $50 donation.
Each donor will receive recognition in the organization’s press releases, on the website www.northboroughhelpinghands.org and Facebook page, as well as on a flyer, which will be included with the distribution of the backpacks.
For your convenience, NHHA can now accept on-line donations. Follow the Backpack Drive link at www.northboroughhelpinghands.org. Donations can also be mailed to NHHA, Attn: Backpack Drive, P.O. Box 383, Northborough, MA 01532. All donations will be used 100 percent towards the effort.
NHHA is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer run organization whose mission is to coordinate programs to assist those in need in the form of Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas gifts, clothing, medical equipment, and emergency aid for special services. Donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
