Obit Louis AntonellisNorthborough – Louis J. Antonellis, 91, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, in VA Boston Healthcare System – West Roxbury after a brief illness. His wife, Claire (Barrette) Antonellis, died in 2012.

He leaves behind two daughters, Janice Antonellis and husband Ralph Finos of Holliston and Jeanine Antonellis Davis of Northborough; three sons, Richard Antonellis and his wife Patty of W. Warwick, R.I., Stephen Antonellis of Newton, and Donald Antonellis and his husband Stephen Trumbull of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Michael Griffin and his wife Carol of Northborough. He was predeceased by two daughters, Bernadette Griffin, who died in 1991, and Louise Antonellis, who died in 2011.

Born in Newton, he was the son of Clementino and Giovannina (Bergantino) Antonellis. He graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, 751st Tank Battalion, during WW II in Africa and Italy. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and St. Bernadette Parish. He lived in the Newton/Watertown area for many years before moving to Northborough in 1999.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Lou owned and operated Sycamore Service Station in Watertown. He went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service in S. Boston for 13 years, retiring in 1987.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 18, from 5-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 19, at 10 a.m., in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
