Obit John S. WilsonGrafton – John S. Wilson, 57, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a five-year battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Loralee “Lorry” (Phillips) Wilson; his father, John H. Wilson; his daughter, Rebecca Wilson, and sons, John and Matthew Wilson; his grandchildren, Matthew, Travis and Zaniel; brother, Wayne Wilson; and his nephew, Alan Wilson.

John was born Sept. 21, 1958 in Gardina, Calif., son of the late Alice F. Wilson. His roots were in Millbury and he lived for many years in Grafton.

John served for years on the Grafton Conservation Committee and more recently on the Agricultural Commission of Grafton. He loved to hike in the mountains all over New England.

For many years, he worked as a machine technician at Waters Corporation in Milford. Closer to home, he served as leader of Boy Scout Leader Troop 112 and was a deacon at his beloved Union Congregational Church in South Grafton. He recently was earning his pilot’s license and loved to fly, as well.

His family would like to thank the nurses and physicians at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Milford Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of John.

All are welcome to gather with John’s family and friends Friday, May 20, from 5-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
