Obit Dick WinningNorthborough – Richard J. Winning, 72, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving family by his side, Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

He leaves his devoted wife of 47 years, Judith M. (Stone) Winning; his children, Amy Winning of Arlington and Scott Winning and his wife Carissa of Norway, Maine; three grandchildren, Seamus Winning, Emma Winning, and Finnegan Winning; three sisters, Janet Horstman and husband Larry of Iowa, Elizabeth Heartsong of Iowa, and Mary Picht and husband David of Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Rodger and Mary (Brady) Winning. He graduated from St. John’s Prep in Worcester, class of 1961. He served in the U.S Air Force in Germany during the Vietnam era.

He spent his career as a computer specialist working for Factory Mutual Engineering Corp. (FM Global) for 32 years until his retirement in 1999.

An active member of St. Bernadette Parish, he also loved woodworking and golfing.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 31, from 4-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 10 a.m., in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bernadette School.
