Obit Sr. Dolores Lavoie SSAMarlborough – Sister Dolores Lavoie (Sister M. Louis Hector), a Sister of St. Anne, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Marie Esther Health Center.

Born in Ludlow, she was one of seven children born to the late Eugene and Emma Belanger. She joined the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, Quebec, pronounced vows, and was assigned to their Queen of Angels Province in Dorval, Q.C.

Sister Dolores earned a B.A. degree from Anna Maria College and a M.A. degree in Education from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vt. Throughout her long teaching career, she taught at high schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Anne in Quebec. Among these were Holy Family School, St. Pius X and Catholic High School. When she returned to the United States, she taught at Holy Name Central Catholic High School in Worcester.

Sister Dolores was predeceased by her parents and four siblings. She will be mourned by her sisters, Mrs. Antoinette Burgess and Sister Therese Lavoie, SSA; and nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, and her religious family of the Sisters of St. Anne.

There will be a viewing hour Wednesday, June 1, at 9 a.m., and will be followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Convent Chapel, 720 Boston Post Rd. East, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan, Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
