Stow – On Saturday June 11, Minuteman Airport, 302 Boxboro Rd., Stow, will be hosting an all-day family fun event from 9 a. m. to 10 p.m. Minuteman Airport Day is an opportunity for families to tour the airport, visit with pilots and their aircrafts and meet the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. There will be a cookout from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with local organic ice cream from “Ken & Gina.” Young Eagles will be offering free flights for kids ages 8-17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The aviation film “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” will be shown on the patio of Nancy’s Airfield Café, following a viewing of aviation short subjects. A “Fly-In” will consist of pilots from throughout Massachusetts. Vintage automobiles will also be on display at this event. Introductory flights will offered by Aptis Aviation as well as rides on antique Stearman bi-planes.
