Region – Come experience the joy of singing a cappella harmony – and let your spirit soar!  Women of Note, regional women’s a cappella chorus, seeks talented vocalists who love to sing, perform and have fun!  The award winning Women of Note Barbershop Chorus will host a series of open rehearsals every Monday night beginning June 20 through Aug. 15, culminating in an actual on stage performance alongside existing Women of Note members. Female singers of all ages and musical backgrounds are encouraged to attend the kick-off event, which will take place at 7 p.m. at the back of the Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Road, Hudson, on Monday, June 20.

“Not only is singing fun, the deep breathing is great for your overall health and sense of well-being,” said Robin Fleming, vice president and Westborough resident. “What more could you ask from a hobby?”

Women of Note members come from all walks of life, range in age from 11 to over 80, and hail from towns all over the central and eastern Massachusetts area. Women of all ages and voice ranges are welcome.

“Just bring a pencil and your voice. You don’t have to have an amazing voice or know how to read music,” said Ray Johnson, Women of Note musical director. “In fact, we’ll help you find your voice!” “Something pretty amazing happens when you sing in close, four-part harmony,” adds Jane Thie, Bolton resident. “It’s addicting!”

A local chapter of Harmony, Inc., international, nonprofit and educational organization for women singers, Women of Note performs regularly throughout the community, offering its talent for entertainment at civic events and charitable functions. Women of Note also competes biannually within the international barbershop organization, Harmony Incorporated. For more information, email [email protected] or visit www.womenofnote.org.
