Obit William LaJeunesseMarlborough – William L. LaJeunesse, 78, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Marlborough Hospital.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Joseph Oscar LaJeunesse and Eva M. (LeLacheur) LaJeunesse and the husband of Catherine (Vaillancourt) LaJeunesse of Marlborough, to whom he had been married for the past 50 years.

Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from high school and served until 1962. He had been employed for many years as a supervisor in the ETL Lab at Raytheon Corporation.

An active and longtime member of St. Matthias Parish in Marlborough, Bill volunteered his time on numerous projects and served as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as a leader in the RCIA program. He enjoyed family time and the companionship of young people, many of whom thought of him as a surrogate “dad.”

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Michelle LaJeunesse of Framingham, Cheryl LaJeunesse Arsenault and her husband Marc of Wallace, N.C., and Laura LaJeunesse Beaudoin and her husband Mark of Hudson: his grandsons, whom he adored, Vincent Criscenzo and Roman Criscenzo; his sisters-in-law, Frances LaJeunesse of Marlborough and Rita LeJeunesse of Worcester; and many many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Paul, Norman, and Joseph Oscar LaJeunesse and Shirley Fournier.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 10, from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
