Northborough – Mildred E. (Knowles) Blood, 80, of Northborough, formerly a longtime Southborough resident, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Mass General Hospital after a very short illness. She was the wife of Edward L. Blood for over 60 years.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Cooper and Violet (Johnston) Knowles. Millie was a 1953 graduate of Marlborough High School and was secretary of her class.

She was a self-employed real estate agent for many years.

Millie was an active member of Pilgrim Church of Southborough. She was also an active member of Northborough and Southborough Senior Center and enjoyed volunteering at Marlborough Hospital, and Tower Hill Botanical Gardens as she was an avid gardener. She also made many visits to nursing homes and housebound folks. She was a member of a Harmonica Club in Northborough and a member of the Southboro Singer Songsters as she loved to sing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Edward L. Blood Jr. and his wife Mary, Debra Petrie and her husband Jim, Donna Ahern and her husband Steve, and Timothy Blood and his wife Lisa; six grandchildren; and 4 great-grandsons, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 17, at 1:30 p.m., at Pilgrim Church, 15 Common St., Southborough. All are welcome to celebrate her life with the Lord that she loved so much.
