Northborough – Greg C. Wheeler, 45, of Northborough, died suddenly Friday, July 22, 2016 after being stricken at his home.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Clifford G. and Anita (Blanchette) Wheeler. He was the fiancé of Dorothy J. Henderson of Northborough.

A graduate of Assabet Valley Regional High School, Greg had been self-employed for the past 25 years as a tree climber, a job he truly loved. Most recently, he had been working with Carons Tree Service.

He had a bright personality and a sentimental heart, but was also strong willed. He was well liked and had many friends, with whom he was able to enjoy his favorite pastimes, fishing and riding dirt bikes.

Besides his fiancée, he is survived by his sons, Michael Wheeler, USN, serving in Virginia and his wife Allison and their sons, Cayden and Jaxson, and Christopher Wheeler of Marlborough; his brothers, Alan F.Wheeler and his fiancée Brenda Gagne of Gardner and Robert F. Wheeler and his wife Lynne of Maynard; his sister, Carol (Wheeler) Barry and her husband Stephen of Hudson; his uncles, Norman Wheeler of Marlborough and Roger Wheeler of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; his aunts, Lorraine Lyons of FL, and Eileen Lipkavich of Hudson; his step-mother, Eleanor (VanCamfort) Pope Wheeler of Bellingham; his step-sisters, Barbara Cawley, Christine Pope, and Cheryl Laprade and her husband David; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Berkowitz and her husband Gary and their daughters, Kiera and Isabella, Angela Wheeler and Sara Taylor, Jason Cawley, Valerie Powers and Jeremy Laprade.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, July 27, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
