Grafton – The cans and bottles were flying fast and furious behind Grafton’s Municipal Center July 16 during Boy Scout Troop 107’s most recent bottle drive. Nineteen Scouts and parents pitched in to unload, sort, and bag glass, plastic, and aluminum containers.

The Scouts earned money for their troop accounts that can be used for gear, summer camp, and special events. In addition, ten percent of proceeds from fundraising events is donated to a local charity of the Scouts’ choosing.

The troop went to summer camp at Treasure Valley in Rutland July 26. On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Scouts will be volunteering at the Grafton Police Department’s National Night Out. And the following week, a group of Scouts and leaders will be embarking on a 12-day High Adventure Expedition to the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. The next bottle drive is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15.
