Northborough – The Northborough Community Affairs Committee will hold two last two events of the summer of 2016. On Thursday, Aug. 11, there will be a concert by Eclipse at Ellsworth-McAfee Park (Route 135) in Northborough from 6 – 8 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. Eclipse is a Boston-based band that covers everything from Pink Floyd and Paul Simon to Jason Aldean and Stone Temple Pilots, the Killers to U2, Kiss and Gin Blossoms.
The following food trucks will be at the concert: Say Cheese, Archies On a Roll, and Bit’Chin BBQ. Cocobeni Confections will be selling delicious baked goods and the Juniper Farms Ice Cream Truck will arrive at 7 p.m. A balloon artist from Hop N Jump will entertain the children.
Concert sponsors include Marlborough Savings Bank, Carvalho & Roth, and Brendon Properties. Also, the concert series is supported in part by a grant from the Northborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
On Thursday, Aug. 25, the Northborough Community Affairs Committee will hold a Free Family Movie Night featuring “Zootopia” at the Robert E. Melican Middle School field, 145 Lincoln St. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the movie. Free popcorn and candy will be served while supplies last. Arrive at 7:30 p.m. to set up, grab some snacks; the movie will begin at dusk. The Free Family Movie is sponsored by Northboro Local First.
