Obit Christopher UnderwoodGrafton – Christopher F. Underwood, 38, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 on his two-year wedding anniversary after an illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Chris’s faith in God sustained him throughout his life and illness.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria (Puglisi) Underwood; his mother, Barbara (Riley) Laflamme; father, Geoffrey Underwood and wife Linda; sister, Karen Underwood and fiancé Christopher Cadrin; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Kathi Donahue, Brian, William and Jeffrey Risk, Leo, Michael, Jaime and Brian Laflamme; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Leo Laflamme Sr., and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Chris was born Sept. 14, 1977 in Worcester, and lived his entire life in Grafton. He was a graduate of Grafton High School (’95) and Worcester State (’99).

He taught mathematics at Grafton High school (GHS) for 16 years, during which he was president of the Grafton Teachers Association, initial teacher of Virtual High School at GHS, class advisor, tutored many students in the community, and was actively involved with several community scholarships. Through his many teaching activities, he touched and influenced many lives throughout the community.

His love for music was second to none and manifested itself in his popularity as a local DJ. He loved all music, especially Huey Lewis and the News as he attended many of their concerts throughout the years.

He could command a crowd with his outstanding humor and personality. He also enjoyed the weather and forecasting, which started at a young age as he provided frequent weather reports for his family and, most recently, faculty and staff at GHS before major storms.
