Obit Therese F. GaynorMarlborough – Therese F. (Blais) Gaynor, 83, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016.

Born in Holland, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Elphege and Angeline (Pomerleau) Blais and the wife of John J. “Jack” Gaynor of Marlborough.

A licensed hairdresser for many years, she was the owner of Terry Gaynor’s Beauty Shoppe in Marlborough. After working for Kenneth’s and Mr. John’s in Marlborough, she opened her business in 1971.

She was a Red Sox fan and an avid bingo and card player.

Mrs. Gaynor was devoted to her faith, her family and her customers.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, David M. Gaynor of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughters, Valerie J. Tomacelli of Leominster, Roxanne M. Hunt of Acton, and Jacqueline M. Sedam and her husband John of Marlborough; her brothers, Robert Blais of Jacksonvile, Fla., Richard Blais of Fredericksburg, Va., Donald Blais and his wife Sara of Jacksonville, Fla., and Silvio Blais and his wife Mary Ellen of Marlborough; her sister, Lucille Monti and her husband Louis of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Matthew Tomacelli and his wife Diane, Amanda Zow and her husband Darren, Andrew Russell, Krystina Russell, Kathleen Hunt, Laura Hunt, and Charles Sedam; her great-grandson, Zackary Tomacelli; and many many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Julien and Norman Blais, Marie Paulle and Claudette Gaynor, and the mother-in-law of the late Daniel E. Tomacelli.

There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Moose Lodge, 67 Fitchburg St., Marlborough. Arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
