Hudson – Eleanor L. (Fearing) Garceau, 94, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Henry W. Garceau, who died in 2006.

Eleanor was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Collette) Fearing. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. She spent many years working at Madona Hall in Marlborough as a monitor. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Eleanor enjoyed the simple things in life, and spending time with her family and friends was always cherished. She truly enjoyed caring for her wonderful pets and always was a great supporter for the welfare of all animals. Her kind and loving spirit and unique personality will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall S. Garceau and his wife Denise of Hudson and Scott H. Garceau and his wife Cheri of Clinton. She also leaves her loving grandson, Matthew Garceau of Clinton, along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Francis Fearing, William Fearing, Annette Millman, and Raymond Fearing, who was killed in action during WWII.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Sunday, Aug. 28, from 3-5 p.m. at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson (www.tighehamilton.com).
