Forum on Climate Change to be held at Southborough Library

Southborough – A forum on climate change, “Planning for Climate Change: State and Federal Issues” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 7-8:15 p.m., at the Southborough Library, 25 Main St.

Guest speaker George Bachrach, president of the Environmental League of Massachusetts, will discuss what is being done to preserve and sustain the environment and its effect on residents. Other guests will include Representative Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston, State Senator Jamie Eldridge, Middlesex and Worcester districts, and representatives from Southborough conservation committees.

This forum is a great opportunity to learn how activists, legislators and local environmental groups are addressing environmental issues. Presentations by guest speakers and local leaders will be followed by discussion and refreshments. The event will also include short presentations from Southborough committees, including the Southborough Open Land Foundation (SOLF), Stewardship Committee, Open Space Preservation Commission, and Southborough Trails Committee.

The Environmental League of Massachusetts (www.environmentalleague.org) is a nonprofit educational and advocacy organization committed to protecting Massachusetts land, water, and public health and combating climate change.

This event is hosted by the Southborough Democratic Town Committee.
