Northborough  – The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie against the visiting St. John’s High School Pioneers in a game played Sept. 13.

Although this was just the second game of the season for both teams, it had the intensity of a playoff game.  St. John’s senior Joe Rezuke scored in the 28th minute of the first half to give the Pioneers an early lead.  Early in the second half, Algonquin’s Nate Mott tied up the game with a goal in the 47th minute.  Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities throughout the rest of the game, but were unable to capitalize on any of them.
