Born July 29, 1943 in Southbridge, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Beatrice (Hoffschir) Girard. Raised and educated in Southbridge she lived many years in Webster.
Diane was a much loved and familiar face at the Kahula Restaurant in Sturbridge, where she worked for over 30 years, most recently as manager for many years before retiring in 2012.
She loved to travel, dine out, and spend time with family and friends.
Diane leaves her two daughters, Wendy A. Ricci and her spouse William Anthony Galli of Shrewsbury and Tammy M. Julian and her husband Kenneth of Carolina Beach, N.C.; her sister, Susan Latour of Clearwater, Fla.; her grandchildren, Nia Ricci, Joseph Galli, Samantha and Jagger Julian, Nichole Kozaczka, Lauren and Anthony Ricci; her great-grandchildren, Rylie, Madison, Nathan, Carson and Rocco; nieces & nephews; and her former husband, Robert J. Ricci Sr. of Thompson, Conn. She was predeceased by her son, Robert J. Ricci Jr.
Family and friends will honor and remember Diane’s life by gathering for a calling hour Friday, Sept. 23, from 10-11 a.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial is private.
