obit-walter-e-madlerShrewsbury – Walter E. Madler, 90, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Walter was born and raised in Worcester son of the late Samuel and Anna

Madler. He graduated from Commerce High School and received a drafting certificate from Whitter Technical School.

He had worked for Morgan Construction Company for 43 years before he retired. In his retirement, he enjoyed bowling and fishing with his family and friends.

His wife of 47 years, Esma A. (Attella) Madler died in 2001. He leaves two daughters, Edna A. Madler and Catherine L. Marcello Ginese, both of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Tyler Marcello of California and Ryan Marcello of Worcester; a great-grandson, Adam Phaneuf of Paxton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Walter was predeceased by four siblings, Francis, Anthony, Katherine, and Alex.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service honoring Walter’s life Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m., in Notre Dame Cemetery (St. Theresa Section) Webster Street, Worcester.
