obit-rose-m-aveyMarlborough – Rose M. (Bilancieri) Avey, 83, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jane (Auricchio) Bilancieri of Campania, Italy, and was predeceased by her brothers, Victor and Robert Bilancieri.

Rose was born Dec. 8, 1932 in Marlborough, and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1950.

She worked for many years at the former People’s National Bank and St. Mary’s Credit Union in Marlborough. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with her friends and was a passionate Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Rose loved her family and always created laughter and warmth for those around her, and especially cherished being an aunt and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 53 years, Clifford, and three children, daughters Rosemarie and her husband William Markey of Marlborough and Ellen and her husband Robert Charbonneau of Marlborough, and son Philip and his wife Shawna of Marlborough. Rose (“Nonna”) is also survived by her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Adam and Andrew Markey and Zachery, Heather and Brett Charbonneau, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of UMass Marlborough Hospital and Beacon Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, for visiting hours. Funeral services and burial will be private.
