Westborough – The Westborough Lions Club is donating 100 percent of all online donations received through Saturday, Dec. 31, to help the people of Haiti recover from the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. These donations will be sent to the LCIF (Lions Club International Foundation) Disaster Relief Fund, which directly supports local Lions Clubs in Haiti to distribute thousands of relief kits of food and medicine to places in dire need.

In the seaport commune of Las Cayes, with a population of more than 70,000, more than 90 percent of buildings were completely or severely damaged by the storm. Additionally in the coastal commune of Petit-Goâve, communication networks were leveled and the main bridge into the town destroyed. More than 1.4 million people throughout Haiti are in urgent need of assistance.
