Wayland – Antoinette (Annette) C. McGorty passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, Nov. 5, 2016 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland.

The daughter of Joseph and Philomena (Salerno) Martino, Annette was born in Marlborough, and with her marriage to Robert A. McGorty, who predeceased her in 1996, she became a lifelong resident of Hudson.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Gariepy and her husband Richard A. Gariepy of Sudbury, and her son, Robert C. McGorty of Skowhegan, Maine. She leaves her loved grandchildren, Sean M. McGorty and his wife Dawn of North Attleboro, Timothy M. McGorty of Apopka, Fla., and Caitlin E. McGorty of Portland, Maine, as well as her two great-grandsons, Max and Jack McGorty of North Attleboro. Having been predeceased by her siblings, Ida L. Martino, Dominic Martinangelo, and Gaetano Martinangelo, Annette is survived by her dear sister, Josephine L. Falconi of Marlborough.

Mrs. McGorty retired from the Richard Harrity Company of Hudson. She was a member of St. Michael’s Parish, the Hudson Senior Center and an early member of the Hudson Area Arts Alliance. Most recently, as a resident of Heritage of Framingham, she enjoyed a variety of programs and the thoughtful friendships of staff and residents.

Annette’s creative energies were enjoyed by friends and family alike as she shared her knitting, sewing, cooking, and gardening projects with all. Having planted in each of her family members a seed of resilience, determination and humor, she will be both missed and celebrated for a life enthusiastically lived.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 8-9 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Michael’s Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. www.tighehamilton.com.
