obit-everlena-norrisNorthborough – Everlena (Lyman) Norris, 99, of Northborough, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov, 11, 2016 at Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester.

Born Jan. 5, 1917 in Orange, she was the daughter of Reginald and Flora (LaBelle) Lyman and the beloved wife of Raymond N. Norris, to whom she was married for 56 years prior to his passing in 1989.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Norris built their home in Northborough, where they raised their daughters, became very involved with their grandchildren, all of whom lived in adjacent homes, and lived for the remainder of their years together.

Everlena was the restaurant manager at the Grille Restaurant in Northborough for many years.

She was a member of Trinity Church of Northborough and The Eastern Star of Marlborough. She was also very active in the Westborough Quilter’s Guild. She hosted many quilting classes and gatherings at her home, where she enjoyed sharing her skills at quilting.

She loved spending time at their camp at Square Pond in Maine, where she hosted countless family gatherings, providing cherished memories for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed spending hours gardening. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling with her many friends and family.

Everlena leaves her two daughters, Irene Joan Mossman, of Portland, Maine and Carol Everlena Reynolds of Westborough. She also leaves her grandchildren, Robert, Raymond, Ralph and Richard Reynolds, Nancy Gavel, and Julie Coyne, and her grandson, Paul Mossman, who predeceased her. In addition, she leaves 11 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Calling hours at the David Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St, Westborough, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service and burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, High St, North Berwick, Maine, on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m.
