Hudson – Paul V. Davis, 81, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.

He is survived by his children, Diane Ferro and husband Steven, Thomas Davis and wife Marianne, Ralph Davis and wife Katie, all of Hudson, and Susan Sullivan of Leominster. His wife of 59 years, Claire P. (Juaire) Davis predeceased him in January of this year. He also leaves his sister, Patricia (Davis) Santos of New Hampshire; brother, Sheldon Davis Jr. of California; his grandchildren, Christina and Alexander Ferro, Linette and Erica Davis, and Eric, Kayla, Rachel, Michael, and Allison Davis; and great-grandson, Nicholas Chaveiro.

Paul was born July 4, 1935 in Marlborough, the son of Sheldon Davis, Sr. and Rita (Rougeau) Davis. He grew up in Marlborough and Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School, class of 1953. He and his wife Claire made their home in Hudson and had lately moved to Leominster.

Paul worked as a carpenter and was president of P.V. Davis Construction Co. He built many fine homes in Hudson and the surrounding area. He and Claire owned and operated the Westborough Inn for several years and in later years spent their winters in Pompano Beach and Fort Myers, Fla.

Paul never knew a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He will be remembered for his generosity, his honesty, his dedication to his family, and for being a hard worker.

Paul was a founding sponsor of the Hudson Boys Club and gave generously of his time and talent to the club over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations specified for the benefit of the Hudson Clubhouse may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest, 169 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752.

Friends will be received Thursday, Nov. 17, from 5-7 p.m., at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A service will be held at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
