Region – For 36 years, individuals seeking a career in cosmetology have been successfully earning the required 1,000 hours of training stipulated by the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology in the Assabet After Dark program at the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough. Utilizing the beautiful full-service salon/classroom at Assabet, the local tech school, students are taught the same curriculum as any other licensed cosmetology program, at substantial savings.

The next class will begin Jan. 9, 2017. The earliest graduation date would be Dec. 26, 2017, which is the soonest a student could earn the full 1,000 hours. The anticipated graduation date, allowing for an average amount of absences, is Jan. 18, 2018.

Classes are held Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30-10 p.m., with a 30-minute dinner break. The total cost of the program, including registration fee, textbooks, kit fees, and tuition, is $6,950. There are payment plans available.
