Hudson – Adelina T. Chaves, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at Marlborough Hospital after an illness. Her husband, Jose R. Chaves, passed away 30 years ago.
She is survived by four children, Maria A. Loura of Hudson, Beatrice M. Chaves of Hudson, Antonio R. Chaves of Clinton, and Lina M. Faldetta of Dudley; her sister, Filomena Cabral of Hudson; her brother, Francisco Felix of Taunton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Adelina was born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, the daughter of Jose F. and Maria (Chaves) Chaves. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church and loved to travel and people watch.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 5-8 p.m., in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Funeral services for Adelina will be held from the funeral home Wednesday, Dec.14, with a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
