obit-john-a-yuscinskyShrewsbury – John A. Yuscinsky, 71, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester and Rutland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 at UMass Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kelly M. (Watters) Yuscinsky; two sons, John L. Yuscinsky of Worcester and Bobby A. Yuscinsky and his wife Nada of Irwin, Pa.; two daughters, Rheannon Redman and her husband Charlie of Buffalo, N.Y. and Amber Kratochvil and her husband Kevin of Irwin, Pa.; a sister, Elaine Smith and her husband Ron of Thompson, Conn.; five grandchildren, Andrew Aiden, Jakob, Olivia and Baby Redman, who is due in January 2017; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Yuscinsky.

John was born in McKeesport, Pa., the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Kenyak) Yuscinsky. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and worked for 25 years as a shipper for Steris Isomedix before he retired in 2011.

John loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, hunting, fishing, and having the occasional “beer” with family and friends.

A period of calling hours will be held Friday, Dec. 16, from 4-7 p.m., immediately followed by his funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
