Southborough – Raymond Joseph Tomasetti, 91, a lifelong resident of Southborough, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 in his daughter’s home in Maynard after a short illness. His wife, Alice (Banks) Tomasetti, died in 2001.

He leaves a daughter, Karen A. Folk of Maynard; two sons, Michael J. Tomasetti of Holliston and Mark D. Tomasetti of Clinton; a sister, Rita M. Dwinells of Stow; a sister-in-law, Beverly L. Benoit of Stow; a brother-in-law, Alfred O. LaFreniere of Southborough; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Ray was born in Southborough, son of Gino and Stella (Bagio) Tomasetti. He graduated from the former Peters High School in 1943.

Ray worked for 42 years at Conrail as a signal foreman, retiring in 1986.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was affectionately referred to by the grandchildren as “Par.” He was an avid golfer at Saint Mark’s Golf Club in Southborough. He was very involved and extremely popular at the Southborough Senior Center, as well as the Southborough Library.

Ray’s funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m., at Saint Matthew Church, 26 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 4-7 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
