Shrewsbury Education Foundation announces annual Awards and Fundraising Dinner

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Education Foundation (SEF) invites the greater Shrewsbury community to honor and celebrate this year’s educational grant recipients and John P. Collins Awards for Excellence and this year’s Community Service Award honoree, Shrewsbury Town Manager Daniel J. Morgado. The SEF annual Awards and Fundraising Dinner will take place Saturday, Jan. 21, at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., and presentations at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased through the SEF website, www.SEFGrants.org, after Sunday, Jan. 1.

The Community Service Award is granted to a town leader who goes above and beyond in delivering outstanding services to the community and to the Shrewsbury Public Schools.

Morgado is being recognized for his outstanding service to the community. Grants and John P. Collins Awards for Excellence recipients will be announced at a later date.

The SEF Board of Directors are thankful for the support of the following individuals and local businesses that have generously stepped forward to partner with SEF as sponsors for the current 2016-2017 school year: Presenting- Robert “Chief Joseph” Terkanian; Blue & Gold- Avidia Bank and Central One Federal Credit Union; Silver- Hannah Kane Charity Classic, Lamoureux Pagano & Associates, Dunkin’ Donuts Shrewsbury and Aurora Exterior Painting; SEF Patron- Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union, Thrive Real Estate Specialists, Flaherty Physical Therapy and Webster Five.

The SEF is an all-volunteer organization that raises money to fund grants which put resources and programs directly into the classroom.  Shrewsbury Public School teachers write grant applications seeking funding for unique learning experiences and resources that will directly benefit students.
