obit-frank-r-capezzutoGrafton – Frank R. Capezzuto, 74, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 after being stricken ill.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Capezzuto, and son, Gary Capezzuto; niece Tracy Francis and her daughter Ella Gorman; and his god-daughters, Rebecca and Gretchen Anderson. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Francis, and his former wife, Barbara Capezzuto.

Frank was born Jan. 29, 1942 in Worcester, son of the late Sophie (Baranowski) and Frank Capezzuto. His early days were spent in the Grafton Hill neighborhood in Worcester and he established his roots in Grafton where he lived for most of his life.

Frank worked for 36 years at John G. Shelley Co. in Wellesley.

Away from work you were likely to find Frank challenging the house at the casinos in Connecticut or taking in a race at the track in Plainfield, R.I. He would never say no to a game of “Pitch” or refuse a trivia challenge from family or friends.

He had a great love of “Doo-Wop” classics and the music of Roy Orbison. Annual trips to take in the horse races in Saratoga, New York were also a favorite of his, and during it all it was well known to those who loved him that when it was time for lunch or dinner he was on the hunt for the “perfect meatball.”

All are welcome to gather with Frank’s family and friends Monday, Jan. 9, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton. A prayer service for Frank will be held Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
