Raymond Alan Blais, 54, formerly of Marlborough/WestboroughMarlborough/Norman, Okla. – Raymond A. Blais, 54, formerly of Westborough and Marlborough, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2017 at the Holiday Heights, in Norman, Okla. after succumbing to his long battle with cancer.  Mr. Blais was a machinist, who also worked on heavy industrial machinery. Among his other occupations, he was a great car mechanic, an electrician and carpenter. Mr. Blais was well known for playing his many guitars; he was an accomplished guitarist coming from a musical family who played country and western music for many years in Massachusetts.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of Doris J. (Parker) Blais Bonnell and James Raymond Blais. He lived in Westborough for 4 -½ years; later, the family moved to their lake home on Ft. Meadow Lake, in Marlborough.  He was a 1982 graduate of Marlborough High School.

Mr. Blais is survived by his wife, Bonnie-Jean (Douglas) Blais, and their two children, David Alan Blais and Rachel Rose (Blais) Dryden; and from his first marriage to Lisa (Anderson) Cole, two children, Kevin J.R. Blais and Amanda Nicole Blais; plus three granddaughters.

He is survived by his siblings, James Ernest Blais of Shrewsbury, and Diana Jeanne (Blais) Sandini of Marlborough, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends said their last goodbye after a pastoral blessing was said over Mr. Blais Feb. 7. Though he has left this life, he will always be truly missed by those who loved him. Rest in peace, Ray!
