John T. Talbot, 97, of North GraftonNorth Grafton – John T. Talbot, 97, of North Grafton, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Feb. 25, 2017 in the home that he built 67 years ago for his bride, Josephine (Sharameta) Talbot. John was committed to his wife Josephine who passed away Dec. 3, 2016.

John was born in Worcester, son of the late Thomas and Kathleen Talbot. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute, and was employed as an educator and administrator at the Worcester Vocational High School for 36 years before retiring in 1984. Faculty and students considered him as a gentleman and a professional; a man of great integrity.

A master craftsman, John had a passion for fine woodworking. Many of his pieces can be found gracing the homes of family and friends.

John was an avid golfer, cribbage player and a loyal Boston Red Sox fan. He loved spending time in his North Eastham cottage with his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his five children, Joanne Quinn and her husband James of Princeton, Mary Jane Purcell and her husband Bill of Woodbridge, Conn., James Talbot of North Grafton, Pat Talbot of Hingham, and Dennis Talbot and his wife Sally of East Orleans. “Grampy” is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Daniel and Joanne Quinn, Brendan Purcell, Vivienne, Jack, John Paul, and Michael Talbot. John leaves behind his sister, Mary Glynn from Boylston, and several nieces and nephews.

All are invited to gather with John’s family Wednesday, March 1, from 4-6 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Memorial services and burial will be private.
