Delores was born April 11, 1931, in Manhattan, N.Y., the daughter of the late Michael A. and Irene (Robarge) Serra. She grew up in New York, N.Y. and Worcester. Delores graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1949. She then attended the Salter School and became a Medical Secretary before leaving work in order to dedicate her full time to being a mother, which was her proudest accomplishment.

After her children were in school, she worked as a Keypunch Operator for Massachusetts Electric and later established and served as the librarian for the Engineering Research Library at Yankee Atomic Electric Company until her retirement in 1993.

Mrs. Markt was a resident of Grafton for over 50 years. Her greatest joy was being with her grand- and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her Memere (aka “the white flash”). She was always more concerned for the well-being of her family and friends, than she was for her own. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a true and loyal friend.

Delores had a passion and knack for crocheting and all types of crafts and created many beautiful and personalized gifts for family and friends. She was also an avid Jeopardy fan.

Following cremation, all are welcome to gather with Delores’ family for a memorial calling hour Saturday, March 25, from 1-2 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Final services and burial will be private.
