Northborough – Richard Romaine, proprietor of Romaine’s Wood Grille & Bar located at 299 W. Main St., appeared before the Board of Selectmen at their March 27 meeting in support of his application to alter the restaurant’s premises.
Romaine’s Wood Grille & Bar, in association with Compete, Inc., had previously submitted an application to Alter Premises where an All Alcoholic Beverages Restaurant License is in effect.
Romaine reported, “Changes are mostly cosmetic, we changed the entrance and the foyer. Square footage stays the same and seating stays the same as before. We are just trying to have a new look, an update.”
Selectman Leslie Rutan asked, “Is it simply the entrance area?” Romaine replied, “It’s the carpet, ceiling, paint and everything [throughout the premises.] As far as structural changes, it’s just the entrance to ease some of the congestion as you walk in.”
It has been 11 years since the last renovation. He added that patrons can expect a few menu changes.
The public hearing was closed and the board voted unanimously to approve the application.
