Casavant a ‘passionate leader’

To the Editor:

I am supporting Beth Casavant for the open seat in the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen race that will be decided Tuesday, May 2. This race is contested, and I wanted to voice my opinion as to why I feel Beth is the best choice for Shrewsbury, particularly in a year where we will be transitioning to a new town manager.

I have had the pleasure of working directly with Beth during her time as PTO president, class mom, and through her volunteerism on the Library Board of Trustees. She is a passionate leader and will bring to the office a high level of professionalism and dedication to our community.  She has a very strong work ethic, strong ability to communicate and energy to serve. She is an asset to Shrewsbury and will be a strong advocate for economic development, infrastructure, public safety and our schools.

Beth has already proven herself by managing Shrewsbury’s only successful Proposition 2 ½ Override campaign and she was instrumental in the successful vote for a new library.  Additionally, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of our schools.

Currently, Beth is a Worcester County reserve deputy sheriff and has raised funds for St. Anne’s Human Services and Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services through her role as director of an annual charity golf tournament, and she is a board member of Binkeez for Comfort which is a local nonprofit that provides blankets for severely ill babies and children.

Please join me in support of Beth Casavant for Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen on May 2. Your vote counts!
