Shrewsbury High crew kicks off 12th annual Calendar Raffle

Shrewsbury – This spring, the Shrewsbury High School (SHS) crew team will, once again, be selling tickets for its annual fundraiser – the May Calendar Raffle. Tickets are available for purchase now through Sunday, April 30. Each $10 ticket offers 31 chances to win a variety of prizes, including $100 cash every Wednesday, $50 cash every Friday, a three-month membership to the Boroughs YMCA, two chances to win a stay at the Marriott/Courtyard Marlborough as well as gift cards to a variety of shops and restaurants.

Tickets are available from any member of the boys’ or girls’ teams or directly through their website, shrewsburycrew.org. The raffle is sponsored by The Friends of Shrewsbury Crew, Inc. (FOSC), a nonprofit organization chartered to provide financial support to the SHS crew program and to raise awareness of crew in the community. FOSC works closely with administrators at SHS.    All proceeds from the raffle go directly to the SHS crew program to help purchase and maintain equipment so that the teams can remain competitive.

The Shrewsbury crew program was founded in 1937 by Kenneth F. Burns and has been a long-standing tradition in Shrewsbury. Through the years, the team has been supported by its coaches, the town of Shrewsbury, and generous benefactors.
