Paul F. McAllister, 86, of MarlboroughMarlborough – Paul F. McAllister, 86, of Marlborough, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at Marlborough Hospital. He was the husband of Marie (Smith) Shea McAllister of Marlborough, to whom he had been married for the past 38 years, and the son of the late Percy and Eleanor (Belotti) McAllister. He had also been the husband of the late Anna (Glodenis) McAllister.

Born in Hudson, he was raised by his grandmother from the age of 6, following the death of his mother. A graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1949, he served for many years in the National Guard.

He worked at several local shoe factories, including Frye Shoe, as well as serving as CFO of a local manufacturing company while continuing his education.

In 1959, he graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, now Bentley University, and began private practice as a Certified Public Accountant. He was passionate about his business. His clients were as important to him as his family and he did everything possible to help them improve their business and their financial well-being. He continued to work until his health no longer made it possible.

Proud of his Marlborough community, he served as Past President of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Marlborough Lions Club, Ward Chairman for the Democratic City Committee, and helped in the rehab efforts to several Marlborough and Hudson properties. He was extremely proud of all his children and grandchildren.

Although he was dedicated to his work, he had many outside interests. He collected antiques as well as owning the former Eagle House Antiques, loved to bowl, winning in local leagues, loved animals, enjoying the company of his son’s dog during his workday and camping with his children. He was also an avid boater, maintaining his boat in Newport, R.I.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, attorney Kevin McAllister of Marlborough; his step-children, Gregory Shea and Maureen (Shea) Magee and her husband John; his grandchildren, Jennifer Magner, Jack Norris and Alicia Norris; and his great-grandchild, Julian Woodward, as well as several nephews.
