Leah C. Awrey, 73, of Framingham and GraftonFramingham/Grafton – Leah C. (Harris) Awrey, 73, passed away after a sudden illness Friday, May 5, 2017.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Awrey and fiancé Paul Prunier; her brother, Willard Harris; her niece, Kimberly Brown and husband Stephen with their children Katie, Peyton and Max; her niece, Melanie Doughty and husband Tyson with their children Wyatt and Piper; and her former husband, Donald Awrey. Leah was predeceased by her parents, Annie (Carruthers) and Harold Harris, and her sister-in-law, Joann Harris.

Leah was born Nov. 2, 1943 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Her roots were in Framingham, where she lived for many years before moving more recently to Grafton to be close to her daughter, Kristen.

Home meant happiness for Leah throughout her life. Visiting with her you were often welcomed with a homemade pie on the table as she loved to bake or you might have found her in a quiet place reading or knitting.

All are welcome to gather with Leah’s family during calling hours Tuesday, May 9, from 5-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A prayer service will be held Wednesday, May 10, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
