Hudson – Avidia Bank has announced the retirement of James Tashjian as chair of the board of directors of the Assabet Valley Bancorp. Paul Blazar has been named as new chair.
Tashjian has a long and distinguished tenure of service with Avidia Bank. He was named a corporator in 1970, director in 1973 and board chair in 2015.
“There is so much to recognize James Tashjian for during the 47 years he dedicated to the bank. His insight and guidance on many of the issues we faced over the years made Avidia Bank a better place for all of us,” said Mark O’Connell, president and CEO of Avidia Bank. “On behalf of myself and fellow board members, we wish James a happy and well-deserved retirement.”
