Robert Veo, 90, of HudsonHudson – Robert Veo, 90, a longtime resident of Hudson, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. He was the husband of 47 years to the late Phillis M. (Lyons) Veo, who died in February 2004.

Born in Marlborough and raised in Hudson, he was the son of the late Henry W. Jr and Hazel E. (Schofield) Veo. He attended St. Michael School and graduated from Hudson High School, class of 1944.

Robert was a WWII Veteran where he served in the United States Army Air Corps. Upon his discharge from the Army, he attended MIT where he earned his B.S. and Master’s Degree in Civil and Sanitary Engineering.

He was self-employed as a civil engineer for Veo Associates for many years before his retirement. He served as a corporator of Avidia Bank, secretary and past President of the Hudson Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.

Robert was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish where he served as an usher for many years, and was also a member of the Hudson Elks and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his sons, Richard and his wife Lori of Hudson and Brian and his wife Jana of Shelton, Conn; his daughter, Debra Farquharson and her husband Walter of Hudson; his grandchildren, Richard Veo Jr., Lindsey Geneau and her husband Justin of Shirley, and Aimee and Erin Farquharson, all of Hudson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Beverly Daigneault and her husband Donald of Hudson and Shirley M. Charron and her husband Hank of Millbury.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22 from the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 21, from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
