Westborough – In today’s competitive real estate market, Realtors often call in professionals to help market a home when working with sellers. Brenda Demers, a RE/MAX agent, with Rob Smith, of the Smith Realty Group in Westborough, does not have to call in professionals such as stagers or photographers to assist in the process. That’s because this talented Realtor can offer her clients that type of experience herself.
For nearly three decades, Demers has built or renovated a series of homes for her family. A professional photographer for the last 18 years, she has also been tapped by many of her friends and clients for help in decorating their homes. She has also helped many of them stage and then photograph the homes when they were preparing to sell them. Last year, after raising her family, she decided the time was right to combine all of her passions and get her Realtor’s license.
“I have always loved everything about the process,” she said,” ever since my husband and I bought our first home.”
“I know what it’s like to go through all of those emotions of preparing to buy your first home to then selling it and moving on to either a new one or one that you renovate,” she added. “Our first home, which we bought when I was 19, was renovated top to bottom. So I have a lot of experience dealing with contractors as well as doing things myself.”
Demers’ experience as a professional photographer is an added asset that benefits her clients, she believes.
“I have a very good eye for being able to see what things could look like,” she said. “I can visualize how things would look if something such as a wall or window was added or taken out. I can offer a perspective that maybe someone might not have thought of when they are looking at a potential house to buy.”
That experience allows her to assist her clients with staging as well as photography when it comes to selling their homes.
“Many times an agent will have to call in other resources for that,” she noted, “but I offer ‘one stop shopping.’”
“I can help my clients position furniture and accessories and then photograph the home to help showcase it in the best possible light,” she added.
On Demers’ website, one client, Mary C., noted how Demers’ multiple talents helped Mary’s family when it was time to sell their home.
“Her guidance, energy and style were instrumental in making helpful attractive changes. She then professionally photographed our home,” Mary said. “We were very impressed with the way she captured our home using creative angles and lighting to best depict its essence. The pictures were beautiful and enhanced our marketing pieces.”
Demers is originally from Shrewsbury and Northborough, has lived in Upton and now lives on the other side of Mendon so she is very familiar with the area. She and her husband also lived for a time in Florida.
“I still have a lot of contacts in Florida so I can offer assistance with anyone who is looking to move there, either for a winter home or fulltime,” she said.
Demers knows, she said, that buying or selling a home can be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. That is why she is committed to working with her clients every step of the way and offering them guidance whenever they need it.
“I can always be reached whenever they need me,” she said. “I know what it’s like, how many questions can arise and how stressful it can be. So I am here to help them as much as possible and make it enjoyable and less stressful. ”
“I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the best mortgage lenders and attorneys in the real estate industry and I can connect you to the professionals that will provide you with a home loan that meets your specific needs and guide you through the complicated mortgage process,” she added.
