Jessica van Lingen, 68, of MarlboroughMarlborough – Jessica Barbara (Weerd) van Lingen, of Marlborough, beloved wife, mother, and Oma passed away quietly and peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

She is survived by her husband, Frits L van Lingen; three children, Kimberly Salvi and her husband Marc R. Salvi, Hans P. van Lingen and his wife Erika A. van Lingen, and Rhea S. Snyder and her husband D. Casey Snyder; and three grandchildren, Jacob T. Salvi, Emersen G. van Lingen, and Cecelia R. Snyder.

Jessica was born March 9, 1949 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, immigrating to the United States in 1974. With endless love and care, she and Frits created a welcoming and happy home that offered calming peace to all who were blessed to visit.

Always putting others first, she quietly fought Stage 4 cancer for 10 years, unbeknownst to many and camouflaged by her silent strength. Jessi’s favorite times were spent in the garden or at the beach reading with sand-submerged feet, listening to her children, grandkids, and family enjoy time together. She leaves a legacy of family traditions and fond devotion. Her family will remember her guiding wisdom to always “Make it a good day” and forever “Love you, miss you.”

Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 26, from 9-11 a.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
