On behalf of our entire Westborough 300th Anniversary Committee, we would like to thank everyone who helped to make the Spring Festival and Family Fun Day that took place on the grounds above Lake Chauncy yesterday, June 10th, a tremendous success. The careful planning for this celebration has been going on for more than a year, and the many hours of collaboration resulted in a fun-filled day for everyone. The Westborough Rotary Club, the Massachusetts Division of Fish and Wildlife, and the Westborough 300th Anniversary Committee joined together to plan and present a huge birthday celebration for the folks in our town. Beginning with a 5K Road Race and culminating with a spectacular fireworks display, the day held something for everyone. Fishing lessons, wildlife talks and demonstrations were hosted by the Division of Fish and Wildlife. The Rotary’s Annual Springfest celebration moved to a new venue on the fields surrounding Lake Chauncy, and it was bigger and better than ever! The Westborough 300th Committee presented a great program of live entertainment featuring the 100th Town Chorus, the Skyrise Theater, and the live music of the SNG Band! The day came to a spectacular end with a big bang – fireworks over Lake Chauncy! Truly, this was a day that brought so many Westborough folks together to celebrate their town and share in the pride of living here!
There are so many people to thank that we would need several pages to do so! It certainly took our village to get it done! Thanks to everyone for your hard work, patience, creativity, and willingness to stick with the planning for so long, Thanks to the Westborough Rotary, the Massachusetts Division of Fish and Wildlife, the 300th Anniversary Committee, our Town Departments – Police, Fire, DPW, Recreation, our Selectmen and Town Manager, the Town Clerk’s Office, and the Town Treasurer and Accountant. The list is endless. We thank you all!
Sincerely,
Reene Hatherley and Deb Schradieck
