Marsha D. Bombard, 63, of ShrewsburyShrewsbury – Marsha D. (Brown) Bombard, 63, of Shrewsbury, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 in the Lutheran Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wayne Bombard; her son, Jason L. Bombard and his wife Jennifer of Sagamore; and her daughter, Candace L. Poudrier and her husband George of Spencer. Marsha was the proud grandmother to Joshua, Madyson, Blake and Colin. Marsha also leaves to mourn her loss her brothers and sisters, David Brown and his wife Frances, John Solomon II and Derek Solomon, all of Worcester; Karan Cuthberson and her husband Harley of Dover, Maine; Sherri Peterson and her husband Alfred of Wells, Maine; Wendy Halal and her husband Nicholas of Shrewsbury; Andrea Perrin and her husband David of Worcester; Christine Esposito of Worcester; Lisa Brown of Gorham, Maine; and Lori Brown of Old Town, Maine, as well as many nephews and nieces. Marsha was predeceased by two brothers, Ricky and Duane Brown, and four sisters, Diane Brown, Elaine Solomon, Jacqueline Bastille, and Mary Ellen FitzGerald.

Marsha was born in Milo, Maine, daughter of the late Duane C. and Mary Clara (Byther) Thorpe, and came to Worcester when she was 12 years old. She attended Worcester’s David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School. Marsha and Wayne had known each other since grammar school. They eventually married and together they started their family, which was the most important aspect of her life. Marsha worked at the former Spag’s store for many years and was also an Administrative Assistant at SEM before she retired.

Marsha was an avid painter and enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved to play cards and enjoyed a good day at the Casino with Wayne! Although, her most treasured times were when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Marsha was a longtime member of the Leicester/Spencer Lions Club.

Marsha’s funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Christ the King, 1052 Pleasant St. Visiting hours with the family will be held Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Worcester Salvation Army, 640 Main St., Worcester, MA.
