Grafton – Apple Tree Arts is starting the new school year by enriching its theatre arts program with the hire of Matt Mariner as creative dramatic manager. Mariner will direct the popular Rock Star theatre workshop and new programs including Improv to the Max and an interactive murder mystery production, “Murder for Heir” at the nonprofit community school of the arts.

This fall Mariner will be teaching Rock Star, a program that provides students in grades four to eight with the opportunity to create an original performance set to the backdrop of their favorite Pop, Rock and Hip Hop music. Students create their own scenes, act and sing musical numbers and develop choreography for a dynamic musical revue.

Founded in 1989, Apple Tree Arts, a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization has grown to serve over 1,000 children and adults annually with early childhood music classes, group keyboard lessons, private music and voice instruction, ensembles, theatre arts programs and concerts.  For more information, visit www.appletreearts.org.
