Shrewsbury – Mark R. Harris, 61, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, in the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. Mark’s warm smile, sound advice and loving character touched all that knew him in a very special way. Truly, to know Mark was to love him.
He was born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, son of the late George (Bob) R. Harris. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1974, attended Brown University, and later graduated from Bentley University summa cum laude with a business degree in 1978.
Mark started his working career at Honeywell and Bull HN Information Systems. For the past 23 years he has worked for Fidelity Investments in finance and most recently as the Director of Marketing.
He leaves his loving wife of five years, Nancy L. (Liljegren) Harris; his children, Robert P. Harris, Erin D. Castelli and Bryan M. Harris; three step-children, Jennifer B. McKnight, Kimberly P. Cosky and Robert W. Hardy; two grandchildren, Braiden and Liam McKnight; his mother, Lorraine (Potvin) Harris of Shrewsbury; a brother, Chris Harris; a sister, Debora MacLean; and two nephews, Matthew and Kevin MacLean.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mark’s family Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 4-8 p.m., in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m., at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be held privately at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery.
