Shrewsbury – What do President JFK, I Love Lucy, Betty Boop, Popeye & Olive Oil, Elvis Presley and the Titanic have in common? They are all represented as salt & pepper shakers of course!
Lillian England Tartaglia from Shrewsbury has been collecting sets for over 20 years. Visitors at the Shrewsbury Public Library can view her collection during October.
Tartaglia is a member of a national S&P collectors’ group that holds a convention in various cities around the country.
“S&P collectors are wonderful people, very friendly and always looking forward to the next annual reunion. They come from all over the United States, Canada and Europe,” she said.
Library volunteer Vera Wrenn said, “People do stop and look at them and are enjoying them. They are so many and they are very unique.”
